One of my favorite blogs to read (when he actually udpates it). I think Gil does less blogs so he can save up and write a novel when he actually does post something. My comprehension is like that of a 3rd grader, so it takes me 3 days just to read it.
I will see if he can release an audio version for us that don't read.

This is funny because I was there and saw it all unfold. Imagine a "regular" family Birthday BBQ just put on by a rap video director at an amusement park. The pool was amazing... Like Spiderman. Actually more than spiderman. Fishtanks inside the groto, secret walls that look like part of the rock mountain that housed not only the groto but the waterslide, bar and flat screen tv's. I would live in there if I could.
This was a few weeks ago and was the first day of a funny, but random weekend in DC.
Gil's BBQ followed by Mos Def's Watermelon Syndicate followed by a night out with Dave Chapelle and Mos.
I have some "blair witch" video on this that I will post later of the Undrcrwn crew along with Mos and Dave rolling up to the whitehouse front gates and knocking on the door. I'm sure the government is reading this now.

I don't know how I find time to design anything.

A SAD DAY

One of the most inspirational people to me and my brothers who not many people know are the smartest basketball fans ever. Not a lot of people appreciated what he did for the game.
Haters! I had a chance to work with him when I was working with AND1. I always thought he could have been more marketable... Oh well. Maybe we'll sign him to be on our 3 on 3 hoop it up team.
I'll be wearing my jersey tomorrow.

WATERMELON SYNDICATE KENNEDY CENTER

I was invited out to Mos Def's Watermelon Syndicate tour.
We produced Mos's outfit as well as the 40 piece orchestra.
The show was amazing. Hopefully he continues the show and everyone can get a chance to see it.
He performed everything from his own music to Jay Electronica, BBD (Poison), Isaac Hayes, De La and so much more.
You really have to experience it to get the full effect.
Here are my top 5 moments of the show.

5. First ever domino game on the stage of the Kennedy Center

4. Mos performed Walk on By by Isaac Hayes. Chills!

3. A jumbled version of the "Star Spangled Banner". He repeated "The bombs bursting in air" about 30 times. Some people actually got up and left.

2.. Mos performed Bell Biv Devoe's Poison. Complete with a dance routine that included the first ever "running man" on stage.

1. The fact that they actually let a show called the "Watermelon Syndicate" into the Kennedy Center

Nice work by Liz Mullen of SportsBusiness Daily, who broke the news late yesterday that Michael Beasley has landed with adidas. (Subscription link)
Beasley fired his agent, Joel Bell, two weeks ago, and there were reports circulating he was frustrated with his representation for – among other things – not having a sneaker deal in place.

Steven Reed, Beasley’s business manager, told Mullen, “Mike has agreed enthusiastically to endorse adidas and wear the shoe as he has done his whole playing life.”

Darren Rovell raises a valid point: Beasley hasn’t exactly been rocking adidas “his whole playing life.” In fact, in his one season at Kansas State, he wore a plethora of Jordans and Nikes. Even in pre NBA workouts, Beasley wore Jordan footwear and Converse apparel in some instances. (In this picture, he's wearing the Jordan XX3 during summer league play.)

I don’t mean to make any sort of judgments on adidas or Beasley, but does it seem like a somewhat odd fit? You’ve got all of these good soldiers on the adidas roster. The only really flamboyant personalities are KG and Arenas. And only Arenas represents anything remotely controversial. Now, adidas brings Beasley into the fold, fresh off a $50,000 fine before he even plays a game in the league.

Also ... KATC, citing an annonymous source, is reporting Eric Gordon will land with adidas as well.

My mother is from Guam... well she was born in Oakland but her Mother was born and raised in Guam. I grew up swapping board shorts and hoop shorts. I thought I was a real islander. That had a lot to do with the ghetto/island inspired collection this past Spring. More of that to come for those who couldn't find it.
So thanks to KICKS/HI, there will be a store in Guam. I've never been there (shame on me) but If I was I'd be at this party.
I'll be reaching out to them to make sure they have some UNDRCRWN product in the store. It's only fitting.

My highschool baseball coach once said "You play as good as you look."
In this case, they're already going to "not be good", they made the logo represent that.
The Seattle Supersonics (which is a hot name, see link) is moving to Oaklahoma City under the name THE THUNDER. I don't know why all these new sports team are naming themselves with adjectives. What happened to "The Lions, Tigers, Bears, Eagles. What the fuck is a "Thunder". Anyways the name is as whack as the new logo. If anyone at the NBA is reading this, as a pro bono project (and season tix to a team of choice) I will redesign the logo.... I wonder what the maskot will be? I think they should be this:
